December 21st, 2021 – Toys for Tots Program
We just finished our 4th year of serving our communities Toys for Tots!
A big thank you to the Brooklyn United Methodist Church for offering their location to us for four straight years. And thank you to our sponsor, True Vine Family Christian Center. Also, a huge thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make our events possible!! Merry Christmas and a Happy Prosperous New Year!

November 13th, 2021 – Free Food Distribution and COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic
The Inner Hero, in collaboration with Boost Mobile, hosted a one-day free food giveaway and vaccine clinic on November 13th from 9 am to 5 pm at Midland Shopping Center.

July 24th, 2021 – The Inner Hero 5th annual 5 on 5 Basketball Tournament
On behalf of The Inner Hero, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the participants who took part in our 5th Annual Basketball Tournament, and a big thank you to all of our Great Volunteers and Honorees who made our community day successful! A big thank you to all of our Sponsors and Donors, most Especially TCF Bank, which has been our sponsor for the past two years!! Big big thank you to Tom Schuster of 43 Hoops for allowing us to host the tournament in his facility! Thank you to Ms. Kelly and her entire vaccine crew for being there to vaccinate our community members!! Last but not least, a special thank you to my Beautiful Darling wife, Elshaddai T. Russell, and our children for being so supportive of the mission and vision of The Inner Hero!!

The Inner Hero held its ‘Community Dialogue – A Conversation with the Community’ on July 19th, 2021. We had great dialog and want to keep the discussion going. As we continue scheduling events like this, we want to see you and hear your opinions as you share your experiences. Together we can bring change.

April 7th, 2021 – The Inner Hero and YMCA / Youth Equity & Opportunity Forum
Join the conversation and find out how the male youth can learn and explore racism and violence issues in America and be part of an upcoming educational session. All participating youth will earn $20/hr. The forum date is Wednesday, April 7, at 5 pm CST.
